Reuters reports Israeli settlers in the West Bank diverted water from a spring that supplied the Palestinian village of Fasayil in the Jordan Valley. Palestinians say the settlers cut irrigation pipes in June, rerouted the water to fill an ancient pool at an archaeological site, and began presenting it as a tourist attraction. Nearby farmers said the diversion left them unable to irrigate crops and caused their fields to go barren. Palestinians also described intimidation and violence when villagers tried to access the spring.
