Zelenskyy declares 40-day Russia blitz to ‘influence the aggressor state’

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has approved a 40-day influence operation for Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU) targeting Russia, with the stated goal of pushing the “aggressor state” toward ending the war.

Zelenskyy made the announcement after receiving a report from Major General Yevhen Khmara, focused on Ukraine’s sanctions program. The briefing covered plans for long-range sanctions and medium-range sanctions, as well as the SBU’s results on the front line.

The meeting also addressed the work of the Alpha Special Operations Center. Zelenskyy said the SBU has, over several months, shown leading performance in protecting Ukrainian positions using various types of drones, and noted that Alpha is responsible for strikes on Russian personnel and equipment.

Finally, Zelenskyy said the meeting included discussion of challenges in Ukraine’s internal security, and he thanked the SBU for its work protecting the state and Ukrainians.
