U.S.-based AI cloud infrastructure company CoreWeave announced plans to expand into Indonesia with three new data centers. The facilities represent the company's first data-center presence in the Asia-Pacific region.
Together, the three Indonesian facilities are expected to have 360 megawatts of contracted power. CoreWeave said it will own and operate the sites, while the facilities are expected to become operational in 2028.
The announcement arrives as artificial intelligence continues to increase demand for computing capacity. The larger and more sophisticated AI systems become, the more processing power is needed to train and operate them, creating pressure for cloud providers to expand their infrastructure.
