Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU) says it carried out another strike on the Vtorovo oil pumping and dispatching station in Russia’s Vladimir Oblast for the second time within the month.
The SBU said drones operated by its Alpha special forces unit hit technical buildings at the facility on June 27, causing explosions. It previously reported striking the same site on June 10.
The targeted Vtorovo station is described as a strategic energy infrastructure hub about 230 kilometers (140 miles) east of Moscow. Operated by Russia’s state-owned pipeline company Transneft, the station pumps raw materials from refineries in central Russia to both export terminals and domestic consumers. The SBU also said the hub supplies fuel to major Moscow-area airports, including Sheremetyevo, Domodedovo, and Vnukovo.
Ukrainian authorities frame the strikes as part of a broader 40-day pressure campaign approved by President Volodymyr Zelensky on June 25, with the stated goal of forcing Russia to end the war.
In a separate action reported the same day, Ukraine also said its domestically produced long-range Flamingo FP-5 missiles “successfully struck” a key Russian military-industrial facility in Volgograd.
