Russian troops in the Dnipro island zone are reporting a decline in morale and are refusing to go to observation posts because they lack basic support, according to Vladyslav Voloshyn, a spokesman for Ukraine’s Southern Defense Forces, speaking to Ukrinform.
Voloshyn said that personnel sent to the observation posts often remain without the possibility of evacuation, as well as without sufficient water, medical supplies, and other necessary support. He added that these conditions have contributed to a very low morale-psychological state among troops responsible for manning the posts.
The spokesman emphasized that the primary reason for the refusals is a “huge problem with logistics,” which prevents units from being effectively supplied or relieved.
He also said Russian units continue to select personnel for transfer to other front sections. Soldiers who refuse service in the islands may instead be redeployed to assault directions, including the Orikhiv direction.
