MI6 Named Top European Foreign Intelligence Service in Peer Review

A peer review has ranked MI6 as Europe’s top foreign intelligence service, placing it ahead of France’s DGSE and the Netherlands, according to a report. The review—conducted by 60 professionals from 25 countries and based on assessments of state intelligence services—gave MI6 251 points. It praised the service’s expertise in recruiting high-level informants and penetrating senior political elites abroad. DGSE scored 169. The top five also included the Netherlands, Ukraine and Germany, while Slovakia’s service received the lowest rating
