Detroit Lions cornerback Terrion Arnold has been arrested in Florida in connection with a kidnapping and armed robbery case, Tampa police said. Arnold, 23, turned himself in to authorities in Hillsborough County on June 24.
Police say the charges include four counts of kidnapping and four counts of armed robbery. The alleged incident dates to Feb. 4, when three men in their late teens were reportedly held at gunpoint, pistol-whipped, and had personal property stolen before being forced to leave.
Investigators allege Arnold rented an Airbnb in Largo and that he and co-defendants lured one of the victims to an apartment in Tampa in connection with the assault. Reports say the attack was livestreamed among suspects, and other stolen-property evidence was part of the investigation.
Authorities say six other suspects involved in the case were arrested between February and March, and they describe Arnold as the “primary conspirator.” The Lions said they are aware of the legal situation and would not comment during the ongoing process. Arnold’s representative said he categorically denies the allegations and maintains his innocence.
