Critical Injuries Reported in Hindmarsh Valley: Multi-Vehicle Collision Blocks Traffic on Victor Harbor Road

Hindmarsh Valley, Australia—A serious collision occurred on Victor Harbor Road shortly before two on Sunday afternoon. Two vehicles were involved. A Toyota 4WD and a Mitsubishi SUV collided near the Crows Nest Road intersection.

Emergency services arrived quickly to the scene. First responders found both vehicles badly damaged in the middle of the road. Several people were trapped inside the wreckage.

Paramedics stabilized the occupants on the tarmac. A nineteen-year-old man was identified as the most severely hurt. He required an immediate medical airlift. He remains in critical condition tonight.

Five other people were treated for injuries. They were transported to nearby hospitals by road ambulance. Officials described these injuries as non-life-threatening.

Police closed a stretch of Victor Harbor Road for several hours. Highway patrol officers mapped the tire marks and debris. They needed to clear the scene safely before reopening the route.

The road was opened back up to traffic around half-past four. Officers continued their investigation into the cause well into the evening. They are looking at environmental factors and speed.

Investigators are calling for dashcam footage from other motorists. Anyone who passed the scene before emergency crews arrived is urged to contact police. They are trying to build a clear picture of the impact.

The investigation is in its early stages. Authorities have not yet filed any charges regarding the collision. The status of the hospitalized teenager remains unchanged.
