Australia has condemned China’s reported test of a long-range missile in the South Pacific, saying the action is “destabilising to the region.”

Australian officials said the missile test raised concerns about regional security and pointed to broader risks stemming from increased Chinese military activity in the Pacific.

Australia said it expects China to act responsibly and in line with international obligations, urging restraint and clear communication to reduce tensions.
