Following a high-level meeting in London, leaders from Ukraine, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany have jointly articulated five conditions aimed at establishing a durable peace amid ongoing hostilities resulting from the Russian invasion. This move signals a commitment to a structured approach in negotiating with Moscow while ensuring Ukraine’s sovereignty and security.

Immediate Ceasefire: The leaders called for an immediate and complete ceasefire, urging President Putin to halt all military actions. This initial step is deemed crucial for creating a conducive atmosphere for further negotiations.

Respect for Sovereignty: The current line of contact should serve as the basis for negotiations, with a strong emphasis on maintaining territorial integrity. The leaders underscored that international borders must not be altered through force and that Ukraine's right to determine its own security arrangements should be respected fully.

Legally Binding Security Guarantees: Robust and legally enforceable security guarantees for Ukraine must be established once a ceasefire is in effect. These guarantees are expected to build on previous commitments made during discussions held in Berlin and Paris.
