Ukraine carried out a second long-range strike on Russia’s Dubna satellite communications centre in the Moscow region, President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said.
In a post on X, Zelenskiy said the strike again hit the Dubna facility as part of what he described as Ukraine’s “long-range sanctions” campaign against Russian military infrastructure. He said the site is located more than 500 kilometres from Ukraine’s border and is a key satellite communications installation used for reconnaissance and to coordinate Russia’s occupation activities in Ukraine.
Zelenskiy added that Ukrainian forces have recently reached four similar Russian satellite communications centres, not only in the Moscow region but also in the Vladimir region, and said further actions against other comparable facilities are being prepared.
Other reporting cited by outlets says an earlier strike on the Dubna facility damaged major satellite communications antenna equipment and related command and control structures.
