Britain’s Prime Minister Keir Starmer and the Netherlands’ Prime Minister Rob Jetten signed a new maritime partnership worth £2.4 billion (about $3.2 billion) aimed at strengthening NATO. The UK government said the deal will equip British and Dutch forces with new amphibious transport ships for elite amphibious units.
Starmer said the partnership combines the UK’s industrial expertise with Dutch design and seafaring experience to deliver “first-rate” platforms. The announcement comes alongside Starmer’s attendance at the NATO summit in Ankara, Turkey.
