BENGALURU, INDIA — A horrific multi-vehicle accident shattered the early morning calm on the outskirts of Bengaluru on Saturday, June 13, 2026 leaving one person dead and three others injured after a speeding car plowed into two motorcycles and flipped multiple times along the busy Mysuru Road.
The fatal collision occurred near the BDA Indraprastha Apartment complex under the Kengeri traffic police limits, once again raising urgent concerns over reckless driving and high-speed transit on the provincial highway.
According to the Kengeri traffic police, the incident unfolded at approximately 6:45 AM. A Maruti Suzuki Eeco minivan was traveling at a high rate of speed from the RV College side toward Kengeri when the driver suddenly lost control of the vehicle.
Eyewitnesses reported that the minivan swerved abruptly to the left before slamming violently into a scooter and a motorcycle moving ahead in the same direction.
The tremendous force of the high-speed impact triggered a terrifying chain reaction. The driver lost complete control, causing the Eeco to flip and roll over multiple times across the tarmac before finally crashing into a roadside electric pole.
The rollover resulted in a freak turn of events inside the vehicle. An occupant traveling inside the Eeco, identified as 41-year-old Sukhdev, a resident of Marathahalli, was violently ejected from the cabin during the impact. As the car rolled over, it landed directly on top of him.
Passersby and emergency workers rushed to extract him from beneath the wreckage. Tragically, Sukhdev sustained catastrophic crush injuries and was pronounced dead while being rushed to a local hospital.
The crash left three riders from the two-wheelers with severe injuries across the pile-up. Among the injured, the scooter rider, identified as Parejan, bore the brunt of the secondary impact and was hospitalized with severe head trauma. Doctors have listed his condition as critical. The two individuals riding the accompanying motorcycle, identified as Ashoka and Rahul, sustained multiple painful fractures but are reported to be out of immediate danger. Two other occupants inside the van, Abhijit and Bhagirath, also received treatment for injuries.
The driver of the Maruti Eeco, identified as 25-year-old Swaroop Chand, escaped the devastating crash with only minor physical scratches.
The Kengeri traffic police have officially registered a criminal case against Chand based on first-hand accounts and an initial complaint filed by a fuel station employee who witnessed the disaster. Investigators are currently examining nearby CCTV footage to analyze the exact vehicle speeds and mechanics leading up to the crash.
"A formal case of rash and negligent driving has been initiated," an investigating traffic police official confirmed. "Preliminary findings show overspeeding and complete failure to maintain vehicle control on a busy stretch were the primary factors in this morning's tragedy."
