The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) said its Alpha Group special forces conducted 13 long-range and mid-range strikes against Russian military targets over the past week. The SBU said the operations were part of a broader 40-day deep strike campaign approved by President Volodymyr Zelensky.
According to the SBU, the week’s strikes included attacks on two Crimean airfields used by Russian fighter jets and Shahed drones. The agency said the operations hit hangars and aircraft at Saky airfield in occupied Crimea, where bombers were stationed, and also struck Hvardiyske airfield, described as a major Russian base in Crimea, including areas housing Shahed drones and other aircraft.
The SBU also said the strikes targeted Russian oil infrastructure far from the Ukraine border. It cited attacks on oil facilities and terminals including the St. Petersburg Oil Terminal, the Nizhny Novgorod oil refinery and a pumping station, the Yaroslavl oil refinery and dispatch station, a refinery in the Kaluga region, and a Baltic Sea-related terminal.
In addition, the SBU said Ukrainian forces struck military infrastructure supporting Russian operations on the front line. Reported targets included a command post for a Russian strike-drone unit in the Mykolaiv region, fuel and lubricant depots in occupied Crimea, and a communications hub near Huliaipole.
The SBU said the strikes complicated Russian supply efforts for units at forward positions by disrupting logistics, ammunition deliveries, and fuel supplies, and that Russian personnel at drone and rear support facilities were also affected.
