Mother who claimed vaccines killed 18-month-old twins charged with their murders

A mother in Payette, Idaho, who claimed her 18-month-old twin babies died after receiving vaccines has been charged with their murders more than a year after the toddlers were found dead.

Police said the twins were discovered in a shared bed in May 2025. Authorities later arrested Andrea Shaw, 23, in Boise and indicted her on two counts of first-degree murder on June 29, according to investigators.

In the days after the children’s deaths, Shaw and her husband appeared on a podcast produced by Children’s Health Defense, an anti-vaccine organization. In that appearance, Shaw said the twins died not long after receiving three vaccinations.

Shaw’s attorney told KTVB he believes the deaths were vaccine-related, referencing medical experts’ review methods, but he did not provide evidence to support the claim when asked.

After the arrest and indictment, Shaw was booked into the Ada County Jail and extradited to Payette County. A cause of death was not announced in the reporting surrounding the charges.
