The Metropolitan Police (Met) says it has launched a formal review into allegations of antisemitic verbal abuse targeting Jewish attendees during London’s Pride march.
Footage widely shared online depicts Jewish revellers being harassed and intimidated. In some clips, people holding Israeli and rainbow LGBT+ flags are told to “go back to your Zionist homeland,” while other shouts reference accusations connected to the war in Gaza and include homophobic slurs. In one scene, a person is shown saying “F
* you, Jews,” and another repeatedly asks “how many babies did they kill?”
The Met confirmed officers are reviewing the material and assessing whether hate crime offences—such as religiously aggravated public order violations—were committed. The force said it had deployed a heavy presence of around 650 officers at Pride as part of efforts described as “zero tolerance” for hate crime.
While no arrests had been made specifically for the racist or religious abuse at the time of the reporting, the Met said arrests were made for other offences and that the investigation is underway.
