SINGAPORE — A luxury superyacht was heavily damaged after catching fire at the prestigious ONE°15 Marina Club in Sentosa Cove on Sunday morning, June 7, 2026, sending thick columns of black smoke into the sky and drawing crowds of stunned onlookers.
The vessel involved has been identified as the Eagle Wings III, a prominent 33.8-meter (112-foot) luxury superyacht. Capable of hosting up to 50 guests, the vessel features an expansive dining area and an onboard jacuzzi, and is frequently chartered for private high-end and corporate events.
The emergency began shortly after dawn. Management at the ONE°15 Marina Club reported that smoke was first detected rising from the berthed vessel at approximately 8:00 AM local time. The club's on-site emergency response team was instantly activated, and a call was placed to emergency services.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) confirmed it was formally alerted to the incident at 8:10 AM. Within seven minutes, land-based firefighting resources arrived at the marina and immediately deployed a high-pressure water jet from an adjacent pontoon to combat the rapidly growing blaze.
Despite the quick initial response, the intense fire quickly fully engulfed the yacht. The situation grew more complicated when the burning vessel detached and began drifting away from its secure berth, posing a severe risk to neighboring watercraft.
Eyewitnesses in the area and online onlookers documented the dramatic scene. A local fisherman live streaming on TikTok reported seeing massive plumes of black smoke around 8:45 AM, followed by audible "mini explosions" coming from the vessel. By 9:28 AM, the fisherman and nearby boaters had to briskly move away from the area as the flaming superyacht drifted across the water.
To counteract the drifting hazard, the SCDF deployed a Rapid Response Marine Vessel alongside secondary marine units to intercept the yacht and contain the fire directly from the water.
Fortunately, authorities have confirmed that no one was on board at the height of the fire. "There are no reported injuries at the time of this post," the SCDF shared in an official update around 12:05 PM.
While the fire has been brought successfully under control, SCDF personnel remain on-site to continue damping-down operations—spraying water on the scorched remnants of the vessel to prevent any hidden embers from reigniting. Nearby vessels at the marina appeared to have escaped the incident unscathed.
The cause of the fire remains unknown, and an official investigation by the SCDF and maritime authorities is currently underway.
This incident marks another rare but major fire at the luxury marina; a similar blaze at the club in 2018 resulted in 15 people being hospitalized. ONE°15 Marina management stated they are working closely with local authorities to safely manage the aftermath of the event.
