Eastwood, Australia—A quiet residential street became the site of a police investigation after a kidnapping attempt last month. Four males allegedly targeted a 36-year-old man inside his home. The incident occurred on the night of May 28.

Ryde Police Area Command began inquiries immediately after the victim reported the attack. The man sustained injuries to his leg and arm. Medics transported him to a nearby hospital in stable condition.

Officers moved quickly to secure the area near the home. They located two suspects shortly after the initial reports came in. A search of the boys revealed items meant for a coordinated strike.

Police seized black balaclavas, surgical gloves, and rolls of duct tape from the suspects. They also recovered a knife during the arrest. The pair, both aged 17, went to Gladesville Police Station.

Initial charges included affray and assault occasioning actual bodily harm. The teenagers walked free on conditional bail following their first court appearance. The investigation did not end there.

Detectives continued gathering evidence through the following days. Assistance arrived from the Fairfield City Police Area Command to track the remaining suspects. They focused their efforts on a school in Bonnyrigg.

Officers arrested the two teenagers again on Tuesday afternoon. They moved the pair to Cabramatta Police Station for formal interviews. The gravity of the charges increased significantly during this second stage.

New charges include kidnapping in company with intent to cause serious bodily harm. The teenagers face allegations of participating in a criminal group. They remain in custody as they prepare for a Children's Court appearance today.
