A bus driver has been taken into custody after a crash in eastern Hungary in which a coach carrying Polish pilgrims overturned into a ditch. Hungarian police said at least 12 people died and dozens were injured, with 10 reported seriously hurt and others with lesser injuries. The accident occurred on the M3 motorway near Mezőkeresztes early Sunday, and police believe the driver fell asleep at the wheel during the overnight trip. Rescue services treated passengers and used cranes to extract people trapped beneath the vehicle.
