A passenger ferry in Indonesia caught fire off the main island of Java, leaving at least five people dead and dozens missing, officials said. The Mutiara Sentosa 2 was travelling from Surabaya, East Java, to Makassar in South Sulawesi when the blaze broke out between about 6 a.m. and 7 a.m. Indonesian search-and-rescue teams evacuated hundreds as thick smoke billowed from the burning ship. By afternoon, rescuers said 225 people were recovered and five bodies found, with at least 41 unaccounted for.
