BATANGAS CITY, Philippines — A massive cargo truck suddenly burst into flames inside the bustling marshalling area of the Batangas Port terminal, triggering a swift emergency response and sending thick plumes of black smoke into the sky over the vital maritime hub.

The unexpected blaze caused immediate panic among port workers and passengers waiting for vehicle embarkation, highlighting the rapid coordination of port security and local fire departments.

According to initial reports from port authorities, the commercial cargo truck was parked within the designated marshalling yard—the transit zone where vehicles line up before boarding Roll-on/Roll-off (RoRo) passenger vessels—when the fire broke out.

Witnesses stated that smoke began billowing from beneath the vehicle's cabin before rapidly transitioning into intense, open flames. Within minutes, the front section of the truck was completely engulfed, threatening nearby cargo vehicles and adjacent port infrastructure.
